“As I type this, I’m sitting in the living room of my new Brooklyn brownstone and looking through my bay windows at the community park across the street. I’ve been sipping on a fresh cup of tea for the past few minutes and meditating on how I got to the position I’m in. My lungs are filled with the elegant aroma of incense, my mind is settling into this new normal, and my soul is at peace. Far from where it was almost a year to this day, when I was likely rushing onto a zoom call set up by a potential realtor by the name of Jamella. I was only in town for a month, so we made the best use of our time together. Even after I left NY, Jamella would still send me homes or check out places I was interested in on my behalf. She even met with one of my siblings to show them a house for me! By November I was getting desperate & dejected, Jamella reminded me what is meant to be will be, and that we shouldn’t force anything. She was right, but honestly I was over it. I was in town for a week, and it was our last day to look at places together before heading back. To top it off, it was raining heavily. I was not in the best spirits but Jamella, as always, was. We entered this listing and my mood changed. I knew immediately it would be mine. She & I looked at each other and without even saying anything, I could tell she knew as well! Y’all, how many of you can send non-verbal cues to your realtor??! ??
