    “In 2016 we hired the Wilkinson LeFevre Team (Janet Wilkinson and Susan LeFevre) as agents to manage the sale of our coop apartment at The Normandy on Riverside Drive. We met Janet and Susan when Janet "cold called" us about three years ago, offering to visit our apartment and to give us a free appraisal of it. We were only vaguely considering moving at that time; but were very favorably impressed with Janet and Susan's enthusiasm about our apartment, the scope and depth of their knowledge of the changing conditions of the local real estate market on the Upper West Side, and their general business acumen. When we finally decided in May 2016, to sell our apartment, the Wilkinson LeFevre Team were the only agents we wanted to work with. They guided us in staging our apartment to maximum effect. They brought in a professional photographer to take pictures, and an artist to draw a floor plan for use in the online listing and for the fliers that they sent in the mail. And, perhaps most importantly, they assisted us in determining an appropriate price at which to list the apartment. They suggested a specific strategy - to list the apartment at less than we hoped to get in the expectation that this would bring more prospective buyers to our doorstep which, in turn, would generate more offers which, in turn, would cause competitive bidding and ultimately a final selling price in excess of the original asking price. We followed their advice. Janet and Susan conducted three open houses in a week. We had three offers the first day; some above our asking price. After the third open house we had ten offers. Janet and Susan then contacted the agents representing everyone who had made an offer and told them they had two days to make a best and final offer. On the evening of that second day, Janet and Susan came to our apartment with all the final offers and we analyzed each of them together. Ultimately, we selected an offer that was not for the most money but which came without contingencies. It only took the Wilkinson LeFevre Team ten days to sell our apartment and at a price with which we were fully satisfied. But their work did not stop then. They remained fully involved in the process, making sure that the prospective buyers had a solid Board package which was submitted quickly; that the buyers were prepared for their Board interview; and, once approved by the Board, that the buyers moved through the closing in a timely manner. Over all, Janet Wilkinson and Susan LeFevre are superb real estate agents, with outstanding judgement and skill. They also happen to be really nice people as well. We are delighted that they represented us; and we would recommend them without reservation. ”

  • “I bought my apartment when I turned 30 and was very proud of having acquired my very own piece of New York City. It represented many years of hard work in a city that I love dearly. I had grown emotionally attached to it like one often does to a beloved possession and had ascribed almost life-like qualities to an inanimate object. When I was relocated abroad for work, I was faced with the difficult decision of selling the apartment. I myself was not ‘sold’ on the idea and so I called Janet and Susan to explore my options. They spoke to me like friends would: very down to earth, practical and straight from the heart. With their characteristic humor, they had me laughing and helped me accept that my life now with a husband and child simply no longer fit in that apartment.

    I always knew that when it was time to sell I would give them the listing. They were trusted friends and former colleagues for over a decade. I liked their honest advice, their hard working mentality, and their sense of humor. I also discovered two new qualities of theirs: utter determination and complete lack of judgment. I knew the limitations of this apartment and the quirks about it – it was not a straightforward sale. But they never focused on those less-endearing qualities. They only focused on the positives like the glorious natural light, unobstructed views of the UES, excellent location, and the fact that it would make the perfect pied a terre to the next owner who wished for a piece of NYC.

    They listed the apartment the day after Memorial Day weekend and it closed the day after Labor Day. The new owner was exactly as they expected: someone wanting a pied a terre. Susan and Janet know the business of real estate and they also know the psychology of real estate, which can be opposing forces at times! They have respect for their clients and for all the counterparties involved in the transaction. They never compromise their strong values and maintain their high standards for professionalism even in the face of adversity. Everyone who they work with in the business, from lawyers to accountants to trades people, respect Janet and Susan and are respected by Janet and Susan. I always think the best way to determine if a process was a success is to ask oneself: “would I have done anything differently?” For me in terms of the process of selling my apartment the answer is: “I wouldn’t have changed a thing.” I have Susan and Janet to thank for that peace of mind. ”

We decided to enlist the help of Janet Wilkinson and Susan Lefevre to help us find a new two bedroom apartment and sell our existing one bedroom unit. Finding a suitable two bedroom apartment was not an easy process. My wife and I couldn’t help wonder if our decision to make this change was a choice that we could actually afford. Although it was not easy to find the right apartment, they stayed with us in spite of our many changes and vacillations along the way.     “April 26, 2014 I half-jokingly mention to a colleague that, while a tad inebriated the night before, I suggested a totally crazy idea to my wife. The lunacy involved our buying an apartment in NYC as a second home with the prospect of one day moving back to the city permanently. Before the day was out Janet Wilkinson calls me and on August 20, 2104 my wife and I are over the moon happy as we close on the purchase of the perfect co-op apartment on Central Park West. You see, on April 27 (the type of day that Noah would have begun building his Ark) both Janet and her partner Susan show up at my office and begin to talk about the NYC apartment market place. They talk about neighborhoods, amenities, attributes, shortcomings and anything else a true novice would need to know. I thank them for coming and advise, as I am getting ready to show them the door, that the likelihood of our going forward with such a purchase was virtually zero. Their seemingly perfectly coordinated response was no worries whatsoever, let’s just have some fun and see what the market has to offer. No pressure, no stress, just “fun”. So the fun began.
