Celebrate at the 7th Annual NYC Winter Wine Festival on February 6

New York Wine Events is transforming Times Square’s PlayStation Theater into an indoor vineyard on Saturday, February 6, for the 7th Annual NYC Winter Wine Festival. Attendees will taste world class wine, delicious hors d’oeuvres and artisanal treats. Participating wine distributors source their selections from the world’s finest grape growing regions in France, Italy, Spain, South Africa, California, New Zealand, Australia, Chile, Argentina, Portugal, Japan, Austria and Germany.

General admission tickets include three hours of tasting over 250 wines at the sampling tables, an evening spent feasting on light accompaniments prepped by our first class culinary team — plus delectable bites at artisan food sampling tables. Attendees will enjoy a live jazz performance from two-time Soul Train Music Award winner Alex Bugnon. In addition, all guests receive a custom etched tasting glass to keep after the event.

Purchase a VIP Suite ticket to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience as you sip and nibble like a jet setter, enjoying 12 high-end wine selections ranging in price from $75 to $225 per bottle and sourced from locations like Champagne, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Argentina and California, plus exclusive specialty hors d’oeuvres.

VIP ticket buyers will sample vintage wines that are the crème de la crème of the wine partners’ selections. These wines have scored a 90+ point rating on critics’ scales, and some have surpassed the 95 point threshold, making them “classics.” VIP wines include: Krug Brut ‘Grande Cuvee’ Champagne Nv; Bereche Et Fils Brut Nature Chardonnay ‘Les Beaux Regards’ Champagne Nv; Dr Burklin-Wolf Riesling ‘Gaisbohl’ Gc 1995; Dublere Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru 2008; Jacques Prieur Meursault ‘Santenots’ 1er Cru 2009; Hyde De Villaine Chardonnay ‘Hyde Vineyard’ 2011; Alvaro Palacios ‘Finca Dofi’ 2012; Chateau Calon Segur 2000; Chateau La Nerthe Chateauneuf Du Pape ‘Cuvee Des Cadettes’ Rouge 2010; Chateau Montelena Cabernet Sauvignon ‘The Montelena Estate’ 2006; Vina Almaviva 2010; and Sassicaia 2012.

VIP food selections include filet mignon with Yukon gold potato and Bernaise sauce; miniature Maine lobster and shrimp rolls on brioche; tuna tartar with pickled cucumber and wasabi caviar; pate de mousse de fois gras with cranberry compote on ficelle; and wild mushrooms and sherry served in filo cups.

Event planners are excited to have award winning jazz pianist Alex Bugnon performing at this year’s NYC Winter Wine Festival. Alex’s first album, Love Season, catapulted the virtual unknown to prominence and set him on his musical course. The album rocketed to number two on the R&B charts and was nominated for best jazz album at the Soul Train Awards. In 1991 Alex released his second album, Head Over Heels, and it became a chart topper cementing his position as a radio and fan favorite on the R&B and smooth jazz circuit, earning him Black Radio Exclusive’s Best New Artist Award.

The NYC Winter Wine Festival takes place at the PlayStation Theater in the heart of Times Square, a 2100-capacity venue operated by AEG LIVE and designed by the award-winning architect David Rockwell of the Rockwell Group. The venue officially opened in September 2005, and has hosted concerts, live television, web broadcasts, live recordings, award shows and event parties. It has hosted the Hesiman Trophy award ceremony since 2005.

The NYC Winter Wine Festival is a 21+ event, and will take place regardless of weather conditions.
