Celebrate Valentine’s Day at These NYC Area Concerts

Valentine’s Day Jazz at Lincoln Center: Dianne Reeves, one of the most recognized voices in modern jazz, returns to Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Theater on February 13 and 14 at 8pm. In what has become a Jazz at Lincoln Center Valentine’s Day tradition, the most awarded female jazz vocalist of all time will coalesce her signature sound, broad-spectrum repertoire, and a fondness for love songs into this special weekend-long performance. Jazz at Lincoln Center is located at Broadway at 60th Street in New York, New York. Jazz at Lincoln Center offers an exclusive pre-concert Valentine’s Day dinner on February 14 in the Varis Leichtman Studio.  Doors open at 6:30pm. This special pre-concert event includes dinner, open bar, champagne toast, and live music. Dinner cost: $100 per person. The 70’s Soul Jam Valentine’s Day Concert: Soul music returns to the Beacon Theatre for an amazing evening of music with The Valentine’s Soul Jam, featuring The Stylistics, The Dramatics, The Manhattans, The Delfonics, Blue Magic! For one night only, this revival of R&B, Disco, & Soul will take New York City by storm! Be sure to get your tickets early. Saturday, February 14. Shows at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets range from $49.50 – $79.50.

Valentine’s Day Latin Music: Celebrate Valentine’s Day at Café Wha? in Greenwich Village, with the romantic music of the Gipsy Kings, played by Los Cintron. The Cintron Brothers, also hailing from Spain, have wowed audiences with a mix of world, Latin and flamenco music. Their guitars, vocals and melodies, set to enchanting rhythms, evoke the traditional sounds of their home country and the Mediterranean. This concert celebrates one of world music’s most legendary bands with a display of dance, music and passion.  Saturday, February 14, 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. $15.

Valentine’s Day Concert at the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts: Orquesta Sinfonica del Estado de Mexico will perform at the Lehaman Center for the Performing Arts this Valentine’s Day. On August 27, 1971 at the initiative of Maestro Enrique Batiz and the State Government of Mexico, the Orquesta Sinfónica del Estado de México was founded by that entity, which aims to promote music as a means of union and identification among Mexicans. A source of pride and joy to Mexican-Americans and Mexiquense, the Orquestra Sinfonica has toured North America, China and throughout Europe. Their concerts feature a wide range of traditional Mexican and Spanish songs as well as classics by Verdi and Beethoven. February 14, 8 p.m.  Tickets: $25, $30, $35. Children 10 and under, $10, any seat.

Valentine’s Day Under the Stars: Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a unique NYC experience only at the Hayden Planetarium! Join us for a cocktail hour, complete with open bar, champagne, and hors d’oeuvres, along with the music of the Josh Rutner Quartet. Then join Hayden presenters Lydia Maria Petrosino and Ted Williams in the planetarium for a view of the night sky. Sit back and enjoy some of the greatest romance stories from the ancient celestial past. February 14, 6 and 9 p.m. $125 per person
