Celebrity Homes in NYC Placed on the Market

Several New York City properties with a connection to celebrities have recently been put on the market. Here is a look at just a few.

Former Will Smith Rental Hits the Market

Located at 25 Bond Street in Noho, Will Smoth’s one time rental ha been placed on the market for $11.8 million. One half of its former full-floor condo glory, the apartment still boasts three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. Offering 3,704 square feet of living space, unit 4E features a loft-like layout along with wide plank oak floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, soaring ceilings and custom living room fireplace. Features within the open chef’s kitchen include built-in Miele appliances, sleek custom cabinetry, two Subzero refrigerators and a separate wine fridge. Each bedroom features en-suite bathrooms, while the master bedroom features a custom fireplace and private balcony.

The other half of the apartment, unit 4W, went on the market last May for $12.9 million. Will Smith rented the entire fourth floor, which included both apartments, sometime in 2011 for $55,000 per month. Combined, the space offered five bedrooms, 6.5 baths and 7,326 square feet of space. After failing to sell the entire fourth floor pad for $19.5 million, it was split in half to create two smaller condos.

Justin Timberlake Puts Soho Mews Penthouse on the Market

Singer-songwriter Justin Timberlake has put his Soho Mews penthouse on the market for $7.995 million after purchasing the property in 2010 for $6.568 million. The superstar has reportedly moved to a bigger penthouse in Tribeca. The three-bedroom penthouse, which has also served as the home of Jessica Chastain and hotelier Vikram Chatwal, offers 2,600-square-feet of living space and 3.5 bathrooms. Other features include a wraparound terrace, floor-to-ceiling windows and custom wood paneling for art display. The kitchen, which was designed by Gwathmey Siegel, boasts a marble-covered master bath, high-end appliances and triple exposures. Building amenities include private parking with a private entrance, a concierge and a fitness center.

Timberlake and wife, actress Jessica Biel, purchased a penthouse at 443 Greenwich Street for just over $20 million. Other celebrities who have also purchased homes there include Meg Ryan and Jake Gyllenhaal. The new penthouse reportedly has four bedrooms, four-plus bathrooms and a terrace.

Dick Cavett Puts Central Park West Co-Op on the Market

Television legend Dick Cavett has listed his classic Central Park West co-op within the Kenilworth on the market for $6 million. The century-old building features just 39 apartments. Cavett’s unit was renovated just before he purchased it in 2010 for $4.2 million. It has not, however, been given a thoroughly modern upgrade. Instead, it has a gracious floorplan and vintage details such as wooden millwork and beamed ceilings. Other features include oak wall panels in the dining room, upholstered walls in the master bedroom, a large en-suite bathroom and views of Central Park.

The three-bedroom unit does have some modern conveniences in place, such as new kitchen appliances and central air conditioning. The unit has been listed on the market for $5.995 million.
