Ryan Olsen is a KWNYC Licensed Real Estate Salesperson with over 7 years in the service industry. Ryan is a firm believer in the philosophy that the “Customer Comes First” and is an extremely optimistic, direct, and honest individual. Ryan loves working with people while helping them navigate their way through the intricate Manhattan real estate maze and possesses an incredible working knowledge of the city including its diverse neighborhoods and its many restaurants, museums, and attractions .

1. Why did you choose real estate as a career? I was working in the financial sales industry before I segued into real estate, so for me it was a natural progression.

2. What is your favorite thing about this career? Meeting new people and the game [of real estate] itself. I love the energy of buyers and sellers in the best market in the world, New York City.

3. What do you find to be the most challenging aspect of it? Dealing with yourself. In real estate you have to be more diligent than your counterparts in order to be successful.

4. If you could live in any New York City building which would it be and why? 40 Bond. It is right around the corner from my favorite restaurant and it’s in a great area! I love the building’s architecture; clean lines and contemporary.

5. Favorite book or movie? The Road by Cormac McCarthy. It’s a great depiction of a father and son’s relationship in a post-apocalyptic world.

6. Favorite restaurant? Hecho en Dumbo. They have awesome Mexican food!

7. Who is your role model and why? Tim Ferris, he wrote the 4-Hour Workweek. He is an amazing entrepreneur, motivational speaker, and author.

8. What 3 words best describe you?  Outgoing, dedicated, and amusing.

9. One item you can’t live without? My cellphone.

10. Your proudest moment? Was when I led my college [Hartwick College] swim team to championships in 2006, after we went through a lot and were viewed as a sort of motley crew type of team.
