Matthew Warbet is a fourth-generation New Yorker who makes his living where data meet personality: Manhattan co-ops and condos. His great-grandparents arrived on the Lower East Side in the 1890s and raised children in a walk-up tenement and built the kind of family that stays. Four generations later, Matthew has not strayed far.
There is a thread running through his career. He began at NBC, working on Saturday Night Live and Late Night with Conan O'Brien, where live television ran under a single unbreakable rule: the show went on at 11:30, finished or not. He then moved through telecom consulting and into precious metals refining, an industry in which a thousandth of an ounce on a settlement is real money. Creative discipline on one side, numerical discipline on the other. Manhattan real estate, as it happens, demands both.
He is a Licensed Real Estate Associate Broker with about ten years in the business. He lives outside the city with his wife Rachel, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. He plays guitar, follows the Yankees, and has traced his family's path from Grand Street through multiple boroughs and a century and a quarter of New York history. You get the sense when he shows you an apartment, that he is not just seeing the walls.
