Celebrate at the NYC Spring Wine Festival “A Celebration of Wine Downtown” on May 9

New York Wine Events will present the NYC Spring Wine Festival: A Celebration of  Wine Downtown, at the Broad Street Ballroom on Saturday, May 9. There will be two sessions, one in the afternoon and one in the evening.

General admission tickets include three hours of tasting over 200 wines at the sampling tables. expertly curated by Vintry Fine Wines. Lush reds, crisp whites, intriguing grape blends, and more, from all around the globe. Each custom etched tasting glass is yours to keep after the event.

Guests will feast on light accompaniments prepped by a first class culinary team, as well as on delectable bites at artisan food sampling tables. Enjoy a delicious array of diverse light fare including tasty hors d’oeuvres, an array of cheeses and crackers, and more — plus artisan food samples — to complement the wines. Plus, if you savor the flavors, many of the artisan companies participating will also be selling treats to take home.

Attendees will feast on a menu of:

  • Lemon Orrechiette Pasta with Sugar Snaps, Wild Mushrooms and Shaved Parmesan
  • Barbecued Pulled Pork with Pickled Onions on Parker House Bun
  • Bruschetta with Fresh Ricotta and Roasted Red and Yellow Tomatoes
  • Flatbread with Smoked Mozzarella and Asparagus
  • Imported and New York State Farmstead Cheeses, ranging from Fresh to Aged, served with Seasonal Fruit, Crackers, Sliced Baguettes and Flatbreads
  • Crudités: A Colorful and Fresh Assortment of Seasonal Vegetables with Parmesan Chive and Fresh Basil Dips
  • A Selection of Charcuterie with Artisanal Breads, Assorted Pitted Olives, and Assorted Nuts

For those looking for a little something more there is a very special VIP Suite ticket option.  Limited to just 50 attendees, ticketholders can enjoy the exclusive VIP Suite. Here, guests will enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience as they sip and nibble like Warren Buffet (after all, this superb venue IS across from the NY Stock Exchange!), enjoying 15 high-end wine selections ranging in price from $95 to $225 and sourced from Champagne, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Italy, Argentina and California. VIP guests will also enjoy gourmet hors d’oeuvres, including salmon tartar with wasabi caviar, crispy Asian duck with orange ginger sauce in wonton crisps, filet of beef with stilton on garlic crostini, steamed vegetable dumplings with curry sauce, and miniature lobster and shrimp rolls on brioche. Your VIP Suite Ticket also includes the main tasting area.

Acclaimed jazz saxophonist Art Sherrod Jr. and his band will perform at the Spring Wine Fest. Art has performed, opened or co-headlined shows with notable artists including Chuck Loeb, Marion Meadows, Roy Ayres, Natalie Cole, Boney James, Everette Harp, Bob Baldwin, Randy Scott, Noel Webb, Najee, Michael Henderson, Jean Carne, Cuba Gooding & the Main Ingredient, and a host of others. He’s also performed in the Beantown Jazz Festival in Boston, the Volvo Jazz Festival, and was one of only five Americans to perform in the Brazilian-American Jazz Festival in Rio de Janeiro among other festivals.

The breathtaking Broad Street Ballroom, one of the premier event spaces in New York City, will host the NYC Spring Wine Festival. Sitting in the heart of Wall Street, the ballroom was built in 1928-1929 for the Headquarters of the Lee-Higginson Bank. It is recognized today as “the most impressible building on Broad Street.”
