Top 10 Tuesdays: 432 Park

Can you imagine living 96 stories high in the sky with views that overlook literally all of New York City? Now, combine that with a $95-million price tag and luxurious amenities and you are ready to move into the latest hot property to hit New York City—and yes, the city’s second tallest, 432 Park. This building is anticipated to be quite the masterpiece when completed in 2015 with uber-chic luxury married with sleek modernity—not to mention architecture that was designed by Rafael Vinoly, who is known for his exquisite details and unique designs, and enthusiasts can’t wait to see they grace this tower. So what exactly warrants the hefty $95-million penthouse price tag besides its obvious awe-inducing architectural feat?

Well, let’s take a peak at its features and amenities:

432_park_avenue_great_room_views1. The “World’s View Tower” should be its nickname. It has 10-foot by 10-foot windows which will envelop each unit so that 432 Park can assure its residents that they have absolutely the best views in all of New York City—as it is only fitting for a building that will reach 1,271 feet high in the sky and overlook all the boroughs and rivers New York has to offer. Quite impressive, right?

2.The architectural genius, Rafael Vinoly, who is behind such gems as the great Tokyo International Forum and Jazz at Lincoln Center, is using concrete, steel, and glass to work his magic and construct what will be one of the tallest buildings in the world. 432 Park will indeed be on the list of the three tallest buildings in New York City, right beside One World Trade Center and the Empire State Building.

3. As for the building’s amenities, it gets even better with a private 8,500-square-foot restaurant located on the 12th floor exclusively for residents and their guests—something that is reminiscent of late 19th-century and early 20th-century buildings. It will also enjoy a 5,500-square-foot tented terrace that will surely add to the ambiance of its chandelier-laced dining area and become an attractive alternative for hosting lavish events on a whim. 432 Park’s occupants will pay $3,500 annually to reap the benefits of the restaurant, which has been advertised as a type of guaranteed night out for when one feels the need.

4. For those wanting to stay in shape, there is a state-of-the-art fitness center equipped with a sauna and plenty of luxury amenities.

5. There is also a massage room planned for its residents to take full advantage of as they unwind after a long day’s work. What could possibly be better?

6. Perhaps a full-blown spa could top the massage room, you say. Well, to have a spa located a few floors down from where you live is pretty amazing in and of itself, but to have one outfitted to the standards of a five-star hotel spa is definitely a perk.

7. The building also boasts a 75-foot pool, which its residents will surely appreciate.

8. Other residential perks that will accentuate the sky scraper include a rather regal-looking screening room, a boardroom, a children’s playroom, and a billiards room that resembles a stately library. Of course, there will also be an in-suite catering concierge, valet parking, and the guaranteed luxury-building standard, a 24-hour doorman, as well.

They contain large master suites with adjoining dressing rooms, his-and-her bathrooms that include custom-made vanities, Italian statuario marble, and heated floors. Kitchens will include marble counters, Miele stainless steel appliances, Dornbracht fixtures, and exquisite custom-made cabinetry. Based on the renderings, the units are heavy on marble, which offsets their cream décor and creates a luxurious yet very modern flair.

10. Now for the “pièce de resistance”—for some—the residents of this astonishing building can actually have separate quarters for staff—and by quarters I mean their own apartment. If they prefer, they can even have their staff use separate entrances in what could be regarded as a throwback to old luxury standards. Nonetheless, this will be an added bonus for some of the 432 Park denizens who, of course, are willing to pay extra—try $1.5 million to $3.9 million for the studios for the maids that will be located on the 28th and 29th floors.

After much delving into this building’s impressive features, they have certainly proven to be worth the hype—but as for being worth the money, that is still debatable. It will surpass One57, which will stand a mere 90 stories in height, and be the tallest residential building in the Western Hemisphere; and note, its luxurious amenities far exceed what we have mentioned here. So, some may argue, 432 Park is indeed worth every penny to live in—that is to live in like a king.
