From products to programming, the 15th annual Architectural Digest Design Show presents the best the design world has to offer.
Held March 17-20 at Piers 92 & 94 in New York City, the show’s comprehensive exhibitor lineup is complemented by an equally impressive seminar series. Centrally located in the Jenn-Air Master Class Studio, the two-part program will kick off with four informative conversations hosted by Architectural Digest, which will be followed by three days of inspiring talks curated by The New York Times. Content, presented by today’s design leaders, will cover everything from hands-on design tips to broad industry trends.
On Thursday, March 17, Architectural Digest sets the stage with seminars geared specifically toward the trade. The noon keynote address features a talented design duo as Architectural Digest Editor in Chief Margaret Russell sits down with Delphine and Reed Krakoff, whose projects include the childhood summer retreat of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Session two covers the ever-important designer/client relationship and features some of the biggest names in the industry including Rafael de Cardenas, Founder, Architecture at Large; Suzanne Kasler, Principal, Suzanne Kasler Interiors; Vicente Wolf, Founder Vicente Wolf Associates; and Mayer Rus, West Coast Editor, Architectural Digest. The program concludes with designer tips and tricks led by Moderator Vanessa DeLeon, interior designer and TV personality and panelists Leura Fine, Founder, Laurel & Wolf; Eugenio Minvielle, Founder Innit; and Jeffrey Sears, CEO, Pirch.
On Friday, March 18, through Sunday, March 20, The New York Times will offer consumers a window into the power of design, from the harmonious blend of technology and furnishings to the art of crafting the perfect pastry. With eleven carefully crafted topics, the panel discussions offer inspiration and insight from residential experts and hospitality leaders in their respective fields. The star-studded cast of presenters includes interior designers Campion Platt; architects Allan Greenberg, Joel Barkley of Ike Kligerman Barkley, and John B. Murray; master pastry chef Jacques Torres of Jacques Torres; The New York Times reporter Steven Kurutz, HGTV star Genevieve Gorder, DIY Network Star James Cameron, as well as dynamic industry executives from exhibiting companies such as Farrow & Ball, The Shade Store and Sony Life Space UX.
In addition to the programming on the center stage, exhibitors across the show will feature a variety of in-booth events, including culinary demonstrations with chefs from around the world, book signings, product presentations, and more.
Programs are included with the cost of entrance, but seating is limited. Tickets to the show are available online at ADDesignShow.com. Admission is complimentary to members of the design trade who pre-register online. The on-site ticket fee for trade is $30. General (consumer) admission is $30 online and $40 at the door. Ticket price includes full access to the exhibit hall, DIFFA’S DINING BY DESIGN table viewing (co-located at Pier 92), the ADDS Café + Lounge, Theater, and many more daily special events. A portion of the proceeds of ticket sales benefits DIFFA (DESIGN INDUSTRIES FOUNDATION FIGHTING AIDS). DIFFA raises awareness and grants funds to organizations that fight HIV/AIDS by providing treatment and direct-care services for people living with or impacted by the disease, offering preventative education programs targeted to populations at risk of infection, or supporting public policy initiatives. DIFFA is one of the largest funders of HIV/AIDS service and education programs in the U.S., mobilizing the immense resources and creativity of the design community. Since its founding in 1984, DIFFA has emerged from a grassroots organization into a national foundation based in New York City with chapters and community partners across the country that, working together, have provided more than $40 million to hundreds of HIV/AIDS organizations nationwide.
